Windsong Ranch in Prosper, Texas will be a 2,030-acre master-planned development. The developer is Terra Verde Group and they are doing this right for Prosper.
The Windsong Ranch location in Prosper is 2.5 miles West of the Tollroad and North of Highway 380. This acreage was previously the Mahard Egg Farm where hundreds of thousands of eggs were laid per day.
The elite group of builders for Windsong Ranch are currently David Weekley Homes, Chesmar Homes, Highland Homes, Darling Homes, Drees Homes, and Huntington Homes. The builders plan to offer homes that range from the mid $200’s up to the $750’s.
Windsong Ranch also plans to include commercial and retail, single-family homes on a variety of lot sizes and town homes. It also is planning over 600 acres of natural green space, lakes, wooded creeks, parks, miles of hike and bike trails and expansive outdoor fields. Wow!
At buildout, Windsong Ranch will consist of 3,100 single-family residential lots and 150 acres of retail, office, shops and restaurants along Highway 380.
Windsong Ranch looks like it will be the largest residential community in the city of Prosper.
From 2000 to 2009, Frisco has grown 247 percent which was the fastest growing city in the nation for that decade. But Prosper has everything going for it to take over that spot for this next decade in terms of growth.
If you follow the Tollroad North, first it was Addison, then Plano, now Frisco and in the future it has to be Prosper. Major commercial developments like Frisco North and Jerry Jones development are kicking off at three corners of the Tollway and 380. For now, Windsong Ranch will most likely kick off the development on the West side of Prosper.
The Tollway dominates travel North and South in this area and adding Highway 380 which provides East and West access, Windsong Ranch is right where it needs to be to get a jump start on this new epicenter.
Prosper ISD has grown leaps and bounds in the past decade and they have their plans ready to accommodate the growth that everyone is expecting.
Current plans for Windsong Ranch are a three-building amenity complex which will include a community cafe with a coffee shop with Wi-Fi, an Esplanade for community events, marketing center, outdoor covered gathering areas, a poolside pavilion with a fireplace, fitness center/exercise room, tennis courts, multiple play areas, lap pool and resort-style pool overlooking the lake with a splash park for the kids.
The first phase of Windsong Ranch will consist of 275 lots and the builders plan to start selling in early 2014. The Commons amenity center should be completed this April.
