Omni Frisco at The Star Review as the First Guests!

Omni Frisco at The Star Jax Holden was the first guest at the Frisco Omni at The Star.

My four year old loves hotels, so I surprised him, his brother and their mom by staying the first night the Omni Frisco at The Star opened on July 24th, 2017.

We arrived to 5 valet drivers on the East side of the building. As we walked in, a lady bent down to Jax and gave him the “Omni Kids Crew” backpack above with a lot of kid activities inside.

Check in was not until 1:00pm, so the Omni stored our luggage and we decided to eat lunch at Neighborhood Services Frisco which is on the first floor and acts as the Omni Hotels room service.

Neighborhood Services Frisco is an American food restaurant by chef Nick Badovinus.  This is the 4th location in DFW.

The restaurant features his signature self-described fare, “honest food & drink in the American tradition.”  This has many nice touches to highlight the Dallas Cowboys in the decor.

At our booth, there was a makeshift locker with Staubach, Dorsett and Randy White uniforms and memorabilia.

They also incorporate the rustic Texas feel with ropes, hats and other western ware items.

Lunch Menu at Neighborhood Services offers a large lunch menu but is also pricey. (Which is understandable.)

Neighborhood Services offers both indoor and outdoor dining that is accessible from the hotel or street. You’ll experience a refined and modern rustic design paired with upscale comfort food.

THE ROOM

We had a corner suite and a connecting double queen room for the boys. Rooms were ultra modern and had a great touch of the Cowboys and comfort throughout.

Definitely a two thumbs up! 👍🏻 👍🏻

The Star at Frisco Entertainment District Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Press Conference

Frisco, Texas – The Star at Frisco had its much anticipated Entertainment District Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting.

Jerry Jones and Mayor Jeff Cheney

The Jones Family, Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney and current business owners of The Star were at the press conference to open the three day grand opening celebration.

Brad Sham, the voice of the Dallas Cowboys, emceed the press conference with Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney starting things off.

“The Star Entertainment District was supposed to be built in 4 phases, but there was so much demand once the project was announced they decided to build the entire retail component in one phase, all at once.” He continued stating, “It’s all leased up, everyone’s doing great, all the restaurants are full, and so it’s turned out to be more than we have ever imagined.”

Jerry Jones took front and center later and stole the show with his “Jerry-isms”.

Starting things off, Jerry started with, “Twenty two years ago, about a block away, I built Starwood. I never dreamed in my lifetime that you would see commercial activity at this location.”

He said that his daughter Charlotte and sons Jerry Jr. and Stephen were the driving forces to convince him to create The Star. Also mentioning $700 million dollars has already been spent to date.

Behind the Podium the sculpture called the Huddle was the feel good story of the press conference.

Jerry called Gene up on stage where she told the story of how her daughter, Charlotte Jones Anderson and herself were in Orlando, Florida and came across “the Huddle” sculpture in the middle of a table at an art show.  They liked the fact that the huddle reminded them of little boys playing football in a field.

The artist, Tom Friedman, mentioned that he could make the nine person huddle any size. Little did he know what Texas-sized structure would be in the works!

The Entertainment District is truly a gem for both Frisco and the Dallas Cowboys!
