I was a ROCKSTAR at Rock 101 Patio Grill last Saturday! 


Bon Jovi was one of the greatest bands of all times in the 80’s and 90’s. 


I found out a Bon Jovi cover band called “Blaze of Glory” would be playing at the Rock 101 Patio Grill off of Eldorado in Frisco soon, so I called and purchased a table for the night and asked them to make it special. 


It was my first time to Rock 101. As I walked up, I noticed a red carpet roped off on both sides leading up to the front doors. A very cool touch.

 

Once inside, unknowingly, I became a rockstar! I was led to my table perfectly located in the center. On the table, there was a large name plate along with VIP lanyards for me and a guest! A huge smile immediately filled my face. 


As we were getting settled in I was greeted by the incredibly professional and multi-talented waitstaff. After a very brief introduction they took my drink order and quickly returned with chips and queso.


I went to wash my hands and started to take notice to the rock and roll decor. As I turned down the hallway to the bathrooms, to my amazement, both side walls were lined with old Vinyl Records from the ceiling to the floor! So cool! 


I ordered and started off with the “Rebel Cheese” (recommended by waitstaff) which consisted of amazingly huge cheese sticks with made from scratch breading. They were really, really good!


My absolute favorite dish was the insanely tasty “Amplified Shrimp” (Rock 101’s version of Bang Bang Shrimp or Dynamite Shrimp) not too saucy or spicy, just PERFECTION



Finished off the night with “Mini Beignets” that could be dipped in chocolate sauce. 

Before the band came on, there was a great playlist of songs and videos on screens practically everywhere you looked. Sprinkled throughout the restaurant were NBA playoff games and the Texas Rangers game with no sound. 

The band came on to the roar of the crowd and played all of Bon Jovi’s hits one after the next. They did an amazing job and the lead singer bounced around just like Jon Bon Jovi and even came through the audience on a few songs, allowing some die hards to sing along!

So in summary:


1. Rock 101 Grill is a rock and roll themed bar & grill with a made from scratch kitchen. Literally, everything I ordered exceeded my expectations! 

2. The menu was even titled the Set List with sub-sections titled: “Opening Acts” for appetizers, “Main Events” for Entrees and “Encore” for desserts. Even the check was brought out in a VIP lanyard! Very cool! 

3. There is a patio that wraps from the side to the front with a couple of pool tables. Awesome! 

4. My plan for the night was to listen to a live cover band of incredible Bon Jovi music. But receiving the “Rockstar” treatment out of the blue, on top of listening to sweet tunes and tasting amazing grub truly made the night a very memorable one! 

5. I AM A ROCKSTAR!

Go try this fun, edgy and kid friendly place for lunch or dinner. Or wait for the switchover around 8:30pm or 9:00pm for a GREAT adult night out! 

The fact that this local venue known for its cover bands has some of the best food in town, is a secret that I intend to expose to as many people as possible!

Lexington in Frisco Amenity Center Plans


Lexington in Frisco has submitted its plans for the Amenity Center. 

It looks very similar to Richwoods but not on as large of a scale. The building square footage is around 7,823. The pool will consist of 8 cabanas total in sets of 4 and a small kiddie pool with some slight covering. 

The pool almost has an identical shape of Richwoods but not as large. There are also plans of an outdoor shower with multiple covered patios and lots and lots of landscaping. 


Things are moving right along with the development and each builder has a different time schedule for pre sales, so that part is very up in the air until the development gets closer to being complete.  

Builders for Lexington plan to be Shaddock Homes, Toll Brothers Homes, John R. Landon Homes and K Hovnanian Homes (KHOV).

Moviehouse and Eatery at Craig Ranch in McKinney on 121 is right on track!


Moviehouse and Eatery is right on schedule. Located in front of Southern Hills, Craig Ranch’s newest residential community, the Moviehouse and Eatery will be an instant hit considering it is on Highway 121. 


This will be their fourth facility company wide. 

The Austin-based companies new site is a 6.5-acre tract of land which is a perfect size for a theatre. 


The plans are for 10 screens and will feature reserved seating in plush recliners, wall-to-wall screens and the latest in digital and sound technology.

Places like this just work! Studio Movie Grill is another like concept and it’s really hard to take my family to another theatre that doesn’t have these features. 


The 2,200-acre Craig Ranch is one of the Dallas area’s largest and most successful residential and mixed-use communities to date. And adding Southern Hills this next weekend, this will only help their numbers!

Southern Hills at Craig Ranch by Ashton Woods plans to have its GRAND OPENING in the next week!


I remember back in January of 2014, I was chatting with David Craig and he mentioned to me that Nick DiGiuseppe, a well known real estate developer, has the land behind Lowes under contract and is projected to close in February 2014. (See the picture I posted back in January 2014 below regarding an update on the Craig Ranch development)

Well fast forward to May 2016 and pre sales will begin for that land! Southern Hills at Craig Ranch community by Ashton Woods is ready!

What’s CRAIG RANCH?

When looking for a new home, I always tell clients to start with choosing the community, then select a lot, then a builder. In that order. And it would be very difficult for anyone to choose any other community over Craig Ranch!

Craig Ranch is David Craig’s vision of 2,200 acres where he is creating, in his own words, “New Urbanism.” 


To explain, lets start with a master-planned business, retail and residential community.  Now add in to the mix luxury home builders, boutique shops, restaurants, high end affordable office space and topography that most Texans did not know existed in Texas. Okay, now that pretty much sums up Craig Ranch

He is ACTUALLY making a development where you can live, work and play! 


To be more specific: TPC Craig Ranch golf course, luxury estate homes, villas, townhomes, the Cooper Aerobics Center, The Ballfields at Craig Ranch, DrPepper Stars Center at Craig Ranch, The Beach at Craig Ranch are many of the special features of Craig Ranch but I could go on and on and on and on…


The Craig Ranch development is located in McKinney’s golden corridor which offers easy access to the Sam Rayburn tollway and also an easy commute to Dallas, Plano, Frisco and the DFW airport. 

Craig Ranch is in the North East quadrant of the “Four Corners.” The four corners is where Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Allen borders all converge. 

Southern Hills UNBELIEVABLE Location

Southern Hills at Craig Ranch is by far the best location in relation to Highway 121 of any new home community since Richwoods opened in 2012. But did you know Southern Hills almost never happened? 

When the City Coucil was approached with the proposal to rezone the land from commercial to residential, there was a tremendous amount of opposition from the city staff.

The main reason why there was such resistance is due to the arterial from Highway 121 to Custer which was a part of the city’s Comprehensive Plan of 1990 to relieve the traffic from Custer Road.  

The City Council’s approval granted several variances to the subdivision ordinance due to the way the final plat is layed out to help limit the traffic. 

Ashton Woods 

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Ashton Woods was recently recognized as the nation’s 4th largest private builder in 2013. Their goal is to have a homebuilding experience that is more personal, more collaborative, and more empowering than any of their homebuyers ever could have imagined. 


Ashton Woods feels that Southern Hills will offer a life with the best of everything, including the highly acclaimed Frisco ISD schools for the kids. And they might just be right!  

The community will consist of 441 single family homes, according to the final plat map with the City. The builder is saying over 300 homes, which is true. 


Above is the final approved map for Southern Hills Phase 1, that is currently with the city, and I have Highlighted the different lots on the plat map that I am guessing will be the different sections looking at the lot sizes. 


They plan to have three product lines within Southern Hills offering 40, 50 and 60 foot wide lots. There will also be premium golf course homesites available! (See below) 


The homes plan to range from near 2,000 square feet to over 3,600 square feet. There will be a variety of 1, 1.5, and 2 story plans. The pricing of these homes is projected to start near $400,000! No typo! New home, located in Craig Ranch and Frisco ISD!

Ashton Woods will feature about 24 distinct home plans. Every plan was designed with beautiful architectural details and luxurious appointments.


Within the Southern Hills community there are plans to have a series of parks, play areas and trails throughout. In fact, the trails will eventually connect to the six city trail system being developed in the region!

Ashton Woods is having a VIP Preview event being held this next week on the dates below to share plans, pricing, lots and design feature information. The two dates for the event are Friday April 29th 6pm-8pm or Saturday April 30th 9am-11am .
