4,000 foot one-story in Richwoods in Frisco

My wife loves one stories! So the good husband I am, agreed to build a one-story home in Richwoods.

My number one concern though is the footprint of the home taking up so much of the lot. Fortunately, the lot we chose was oversized and perfect for what we wanted.

It is rare to find an opportunity to build a one story with a yard in a desired location, but at Richwoods it is possible.

Why Stone Edging Matters.

I am a big stone edging advocate. I can’t stand when the grass comes through the mulch in the flower beds!

On a house that I owned before this one in Richwoods, I had stone edging done and it looked good. But one day I noticed that there was grass in the mulch and needless to say, I was frustrated.

Well as I was shopping contractors I found a no-nonsense stone guy that has been doing stone on new homes for over 12 years.

I asked him if there was anyway to block the grass growing under the stone wall and in the beds and he looked befuddled.

He told me that it CAN’T grow into the flower beds. And I was both skeptical and excited.

What he does differently is he digs 4 to five inches down and uses rebar in the trough and then levels it and adds concrete. That is all that happens on the first day.

The second day is when they start adding stone and mortar after the base concrete dries.

It made sense to me, so lets just see if the grass doesn’t sneak it’s way through!

Newcastle Homes at Richwoods in Frisco is selling like crazy!!!

Out of their 31 lots in the Country and the Landing, as of today only 2 of the lots are not spoken for. The others are either closed, sold or on hold. See below.

Richwoods in Frisco Pool Review

This weekend, we ventured down to the pool at Richwoods both Saturday and Sunday and I will report that it is definitely is the best and Biggest community pool on North Texas!

The close to 8,000 square feet of Water is almost overwhelming when walking through the gate. A key fob is required when entering and you can enter in two different locations. There are 4 arbors scattered through the grounds for shade.

The kids area is fantastic with an entry at 6 inches and goes up to around 2.5 feet with fours small water fountain features.

There is an awesome slide that is very deceiving, because it is FAST!!! A basketball goal is permanently cemented into the ground and there are poles for a volleyball net.

But what is just incredible is the size. It looks big when you first see it, but when you are in it WOW! It takes forever to get from one side to the other. A pool this big should be able to handle the number of homes in Richwoods.

And here is my small guy both days in the pool. My oldest was too excited to pose!

Darling Homes in Lawler Park in Frisco Opens new phases

Darling Homes in Lawler Park has just announced the opening of Phase 2 in both the Crossing and Arbors!

This has been a long time coming since they are down to their last available homes in phase 1.

In the Arbors, Darling has 34 available lots which 3 have been sold today and yesterday on an average lot size of 65 wide by 120 deep. A 2,300 square foot one-story starts at $369,990 all the way up to a 3,800 for $458,990.

There are some pretty incredible opportunities there with 6 of the lots backing to a beautiful tree line of mature trees.

RICHWOODS POOL OPENS TOMORROW!

The Richwoods Pool will be open this weekend from 10:00am to 6:00pm tomorrow on June 7th and 8th, 2013!!!

Homeowners need to fill out the waiver and key fob forms with Claudia from the HOA to gain access to the pool.

The slide will be open only when lifeguards are present.

Come on out and test out the Richwoods Waters! I will see you then.

Update on Richwoods Amenity Center, Pool and Playground

Richwoods Amenity Center in Frisco is 97% complete! The landscaping is almost completely in and the interior is amazing! It has plans to open early summer!!!

First the entry for Richwoods Amenity center opens to a beautiful foyer with arches and a great combination of tile and stone. There is a flat screen that welcomes you with a large information center to the left about Richwoods.

To the right you will enter the 4,000 square foot work-out facility with lockers, and two large rooms for individual classes.

But what really impresses me is to the left. You walk into a large beautiful open room that boasts a Texas sized fireplace, bar area and cathedral ceilings with rows of lighting right above your head!

The cedar beams really give it character and the stone on the walls make it feel both new and luxurious.

The plans are residents can rent this room and another out for parties or gatherings for a nominal fee. I can’t wait!

The resort style pools slide is almost complete and looks to be both fun and safe for the kiddos.

The pool was being filled up today and looks great!

The Playground that is adjacent to the pool is up and after the big rain last night, they are waiting to add the wood chips until they level out the mud. Again, great for the kids.

All builders are continuing to sell strong and raise prices. On June 1st there will be a rise on price for lumber so I am sure the prices will continue to rise.

Landon Homes in Richwoods Hollow has sold 5 of their first 7 that have been released as of yesterday. They have plans that begin in the $360’s for around 2,900 square feet.

They have a $3,000 additional incentive through Memorial Day if you are ready to pull the trigger this weekend.

Richwoods pool in Frisco has water!!!

The Richwoods pool in Frisco has water!!! It’s been a long time coming but on our daily walk we saw that the water was filling the pool up.

And not only that but the slide as well as the playground is also near completion. They have been working fast and furious to get the clubhouse, landscaping and playground area ready for the summer. Way to go Landon Development!

ANNOUNCING West Park in Plano by Toll Brothers at Haggard Farm

West Park by Toll Brothers in Plano will be the last chance for a new home on Haggard Farm.
